| ■The Otozure River Romantic Tale |
 The Otozure River, flowing through the core of the Yumoto hot spring, is the source of a tale of romance. Legend has it that several young maidens, enjoying the pleasures of the hot spring, upon seeing guests visiting from downstream, fell instantly in love with these visitors.  Because their desires for passion were not reciprocated, in an act of desperation the maidens tossed letters expressing the depth of their love into the river from the Otozure Bridge in secret. As they dropped their letters into the river, the maidens pleaded with the river's current to deliver their feelings of love. Floating a letter down the river was the only thing these women in waiting could do. |
